GLOCAL-EYEZ IS THE FIRST VEHICLE USING TECHNOLOGY THAT CAN BE COMPLETED ONLY WITH A SMARTPHONE TO PASS THE NATIONAL PERFORMANCE VERIFICATION TEST IN CHINA. ■OVERVIEW OF THE "NATIONAL ROAD AUTOMATIC MEASURING DEVICE PERFORMANCE TEST "IN THE "NATIONAL PERFORMANCE TEST," A LOCAL RENTAL CAR EQUIPPED WITH A SINGLE SMARTPHONE WAS DRIVEN AS USUAL TO PERFORM MEASUREMENTS. THIS WAS THE FIRST ROAD SURFACE INSPECTION TECHNOLOGY TO PASS THE LOCAL "NATIONAL PERFORMANCE TEST" IN CHINA THAT DID NOT REQUIRE SPECIALIZED EQUIPMENT AND COULD THUS BE COMPLETED USING ONLY A SMARTPHONE. THE RESULTS SHOW THE HIGH LEVEL AND USEFULNESS OF THE TECHNOLOGY, WITH A WIDE RANGE OF ITEMS PASSING THE TEST, INCLUDING "CRACK RATE," "WIDTH OF THE ROAD," "REPRODUCIBILITY AT EACH SPEED," "CAMERA RESOLUTION," AND "IRI. IN RECENT YEARS, NEW TYPES OF ROAD SURFACE INSPECTION TECHNOLOGIES UTILIZING SMARTPHONES AND DRIVE RECORDERS HAVE BEEN DEVELOPED ONE AFTER ANOTHER AROUND THE WORLD IN RESPONSE TO THE RAPID PROGRESS OF AI TECHNOLOGY AND THE TREND TOWARD DX. COMPETITION TO DEVELOP SUCH CUTTING-EDGE TECHNOLOGIES AND TO CAPTURE MARKETS IN THESE FIELDS IS INTENSIFYING.
