Thank you very much for your continued support of our Road Research Web Service "GLOCAL-EYEZ". Based on the opinions and requests from our users, we have updated our road survey web service "GLOCAL-EYEZ". The additional functions of this update are as follows. It is now possible to compare the latest road surface image with the past road surface image at the same location. The latest, maximum and average values can be selected and displayed on the map view. It is now possible to check the AI inspection results, vibration inspection results, and location information at the same time while automatically playing back the captured road surface images. (One-click patrol survey function) ■It is now possible to share the location information of defective pavement areas via URL. For details of the update contents, please refer to the manual on the GLOCAL-EYEZ website.

Notice of Establishment of China Business Promotion Office

The GLOCAL-EYEZ China Business Promotion Office has been established jointly with the Kehong New Technology Research Institute affiliated with Sichuan University and the Road Maintenance and Management Laboratory of Southwest Jiaotong University for the purpose of technological development and business promotion of the next-generation road management platform GLOCAL-EYEZ in China. In China, large-scale infrastructure investment totalling RMB 11 trillion (approximately ¥170 trillion) is planned for the period 2020-25 under the national project known as 'New Base Building'. China is also making strong efforts to utilise next-generation information technologies such as AI, 5G and IoT, and is introducing these latest technologies in the field of infrastructure maintenance and management. Against this background, road inspection technologies that utilise AI and IoT, such as GLOCAL-EYEZ, are in strong demand in China. We have developed a dedicated road inspection AI based on tens of thousands of road surface image teacher data collected locally in China. In addition, a proof-of-concept (PoC) of the large-scale road surface survey web service GLOCAL-EYEZ in China was launched in December 2020. Through this demonstration, the road management department of Sichuan Province has highly evaluated GLOCAL-EYEZ as a significant contribution towards the digital transformation (DX) of road management. With the establishment of the China Business Promotion Office, we intend to further accelerate the market development of the Chinese version of GLOCAL-EYEZ by making improvements in terms of security and user interface (UI).
