NOTICE OF ADOPTION OF R&D THEMES FOR MATCHING PROJECT BY KANTO REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT BUREAU, MINISTRY OF LAND, INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORT AND TOURISM - TECHNOLOGY THAT CONTRIBUTES TO IMPROVING CONSTRUCTION SITE PRODUCTIVITY THROUGH DX PROMOTION

We are pleased to announce that our joint proposal with the University of Tokyo Graduate School of Engineering and Nichireki Corporation has been selected by the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism for the 2022 Matching Project with Universities and Other Research Institutes as a technology that will contribute to improved productivity at construction sites through DX promotion. Ltd. have been selected as technologies that will contribute to improving productivity at construction sites through the promotion of DX. The adopted R&D theme is "Development of a Simple Evaluation Method for Rut Excavation and Improvement of Productivity of Inspection Work by Automatic Calculation of MCI," and is expected to be a new technology that will contribute to "higher-level maintenance management of social infrastructure. For more information, please refer to the press release by the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism at the following URL https://www.ktr.mlit.go.jp/ktr_content/content/000837766.pdf

Publication of research results of the matching project of the Kanto Regional Development Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism

■ "Summary of FY2021 Research Results" published The research results of the Kanto Regional Development Bureau Matching Project of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism, in which the University of Tokyo, Nichireki Corporation and our company were jointly involved in research and development, have now been published on the website of the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism. https://www.ktr.mlit. go.jp/gijyutu/gijyutu00000108.html ■Research Summary: It has been difficult with conventional technology to quantitatively evaluate crack rates from road surface images captured by smartphones and drive recorders installed inside vehicles. The University of Tokyo, Nichireki Corporation, and our company have worked to develop a technology that can accurately calculate crack rates from images taken by general-purpose devices such as smartphones and drive recorders using our unique video image processing AI.

GLOCAL-EYEZ participated in the performance confirmation test (cracks) of the automatic road surface condition measuring device for the first time as a smartphone-based technology.

IN THE AREA OF "CRACK RATE" EVALUATION, THROUGH YEARS OF RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT, WE HAVE OVERCOME THE WEAKNESSES THAT ARISE WHEN USING SIMPLE EQUIPMENT, SUCH AS IMAGE QUALITY AND ANGLE OF VIEW, AND HAVE SUCCEEDED IN QUANTITATIVELY CALCULATING "CRACKS" FROM ROAD SURFACE IMAGES CAPTURED BY CAMERAS INSTALLED INSIDE VEHICLES. BASED ON THESE RESEARCH RESULTS, GLOCAL-EYEZ WAS THE FIRST TECHNOLOGY TO USE IN-VEHICLE CAMERAS, AND PARTICIPATED IN THE PERFORMANCE TEST IN FY2022 IN THE FIELD OF "CRACK RATE. WE WILL CONTINUE OUR CUTTING-EDGE RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT TO REALIZE OUR GOALS OF "FROM SIMPLE DEVICE TO RIGOROUS RESULTS" AND "FROM PATROL TO INSPECTION".

Lecture at the "Construction Technology Forum

OUR TECHNICAL ADVISOR, ASSOCIATE PROFESSOR TOMONORI NAGAYAMA, GAVE A LECTURE AT THE CONSTRUCTION TECHNOLOGY FORUM HELD AT SUNSHINE CITY EXHIBITION HALL ON 25 NOVEMBER 2021. THE TITLE OF THE LECTURE WAS "DEVELOPMENT OF QUASI-REAL-TIME WIDE-AREA ROAD SURFACE CRACK RATE EVALUATION TECHNOLOGY USING IN-VEHICLE CAMERAS", AND HE INTRODUCED THE CONTENTS OF THE THREE-WAY COLLABORATION BETWEEN THE UNIVERSITY OF TOKYO, NICHIREKI CORPORATION AND OUR COMPANY UNDER THE MATCHING PROJECT OF THE KANTO REGIONAL DEVELOPMENT BUREAU OF THE MINISTRY OF LAND, INFRASTRUCTURE, TRANSPORT AND TOURISM. RESEARCH OUTLINE: IN RECENT YEARS, WE HAVE SEEN CASES OF AUTOMATIC DETECTION OF PAVEMENT CRACKS USING PHOTOGRAPHY AND AI TECHNOLOGY, BUT IT IS DIFFICULT TO ACCURATELY CALCULATE THE CRACK RATE USING GENERAL-PURPOSE PRODUCTS SUCH AS DRIVE RECORDERS INSTALLED IN THE VEHICLES OF OFFICE AND BRANCH OFFICE STAFF. USING VIDEO PROCESSING TECHNOLOGY, THE CRACK RATE CAN BE ACCURATELY CALCULATED. CLICK HERE FOR MORE INFORMATION
