Research and development theme (road crack ratio evaluation) for the Matching Project of the Kanto Regional Development Bureau, Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport have been adopted.

The Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transport and Tourism (MLIT) is pleased to announce that the research and development theme (lead applicant: Associate Professor Tomonori Nagayama of The University of Tokyo) that we proposed jointly with the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo and Nichireki Corporation has been selected as one of the technology seeds for the fiscal 2020 Matching Project with Universities and Other Research Institutions conducted by the Kanto Regional Development Bureau of the MLIT. This is an announcement. The theme of the research and development adopted is "Development of near-real time wide area road surface crack rate evaluation technology using in-vehicle cameras," which is expected to contribute to "making the maintenance and management of social infrastructure more flexible.
