On November 12, we took the stage at the 5th China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition, a global pitch contest, and won the first place overall and the top prize in the Artificial Intelligence category. The 5th China (Shenzhen) Innovation & Entrepreneurship International Competition is an international pitch competition organized by the government of Shenzhen, China and held annually since 2017. For the fifth time, 1,473 startups from 9 countries are participating in the competition. In the Artificial Intelligence category, 10 finalists were selected through the preliminary rounds, and the final judging was held on Friday, 12 November 2021, where investors and others judged the 10-minute pitches and 5-minute Q&A sessions to determine the grand prize winner in the Artificial Intelligence category. We are pleased to announce that a research proposal jointly submitted by four parties, including our company, and represented by Associate Professor Tomonori Nagayama of the Graduate School of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, has been selected for the "FY2020 Research Grant for International Development of Infrastructure Management Technology" by the Japan Society of Civil Engineers (JSCE).

The GLOCAL-EYEZ China Business Promotion Office has been established jointly with the Kehong New Technology Research Institute affiliated with Sichuan University and the Road Maintenance and Management Laboratory of Southwest Jiaotong University for the purpose of technological development and business promotion of the next-generation road management platform GLOCAL-EYEZ in China. In China, large-scale infrastructure investment totalling RMB 11 trillion (approximately ¥170 trillion) is planned for the period 2020-25 under the national project known as 'New Base Building'. China is also making strong efforts to utilise next-generation information technologies such as AI, 5G and IoT, and is introducing these latest technologies in the field of infrastructure maintenance and management. Against this background, road inspection technologies that utilise AI and IoT, such as GLOCAL-EYEZ, are in strong demand in China. We have developed a dedicated road inspection AI based on tens of thousands of road surface image teacher data collected locally in China. In addition, a proof-of-concept (PoC) of the large-scale road surface survey web service GLOCAL-EYEZ in China was launched in December 2020. Through this demonstration, the road management department of Sichuan Province has highly evaluated GLOCAL-EYEZ as a significant contribution towards the digital transformation (DX) of road management. With the establishment of the China Business Promotion Office, we intend to further accelerate the market development of the Chinese version of GLOCAL-EYEZ by making improvements in terms of security and user interface (UI). With the cooperation of the Road Maintenance Laboratory of Southwest Jiaotong University in China, we have decided to conduct a demonstration experiment of AI-based road surface inspection on a major highway in Sichuan Province, China. In this experiment, we collected tens of thousands of road surface images and teacher data, and built an AI model exclusively for road inspection. In conjunction with this, the demonstration experiment of GLOCAL-EYEZ, a Chinese version of the large-scale road surface survey web service, started on December 11.

We participated in the international pitch competition "Innovation competition for overseas talents" held in Harbin, China as a representative of Japan, and won the 2nd place overall. Mr. Xue, a representative of our company, received the award.
