We are pleased to announce that we have established the GLOCAL-EYEZ China Business Promotion Office in collaboration with the Kehong Institute of New Technology of Sichuan University and the Road Maintenance Laboratory of Southwest Jiaotong University for the purpose of technological development and business promotion of the next-generation road management platform GLOCAL-EYEZ in China.

Under a national project called "New Key Construction", China plans to invest a total of 11 trillion yuan (approximately 170 trillion yen) in infrastructure between 2020 and 2013. China is also placing a strong emphasis on the use of next-generation information technologies such as AI, 5G, and IoT, and the introduction of these latest technologies is also being promoted in the field of infrastructure maintenance and management. Against this background, road inspection technologies that utilize AI and IoT, such as GLOCAL-EYEZ, are in strong demand in China.

We have developed a dedicated road inspection AI based on tens of thousands of road surface image teacher data collected in China. In December 2020, we also began a proof of concept (PoC) in China for GLOCAL-EYEZ, a large-scale road surface survey web service. Through this proof-of-concept, the road management department of Sichuan Province has given high marks to GLOCAL-EYEZ, saying that it will greatly contribute to the digital transformation (DX) of road management.

With the establishment of the China Business Promotion Office, we hope to further accelerate the market development of the Chinese version of GLOCAL-EYEZ through improvements in security and user interface (UI).
